At the airport and the security lines are very long so everyone in line has been there for at least an hour already. We’re all ready for it to be over. Suddenly a child starts crying and whining that the line is taking too long. So security lets them CUT THE ENTIRE LINE. Now don’t get me wrong, I have no desire to listen to a child scream in the TSA line. But why the hell do they get to cut the ENTIRE line just because of a tantrum?? If I start whining that the line is too long do I get to cut too?
While it’s infuriating that happened, what happened after nearly sent me over the edge. She gets through the line and the child IMMEDIATELY stops crying. Suddenly all the other parents are laughing at the kid and saying she “did good” and others around are PRAISING this kid for screaming and freaking out. Saying she “behaved when needed” “knew her assignment”. Since when is freaking out in public behaving? No. You need to teach your child to have manners in public, not praise them for a tantrum just so you can skip the line. All the other non-parents were pissed, we had been in the line for so damn long and this lady got a free pass just because her kid knows to scream and get what she wants.
Luckily there weren’t any little brats on my flight but it was just an infuriating experience.
